Service Description
The American Sombo Cadet Training Division is the very first Training Division. This is where many of the young athletes will begin their training. It is designed for children ages 8-Under. This is of course a guideline and not set in stone. Everything depends on the skill and maturity of the individual child. You may have a six-year-old who is a white-belt in the Novice Division and a child who is ten in the Cadet Division. Athletes in the Cadet Division will have more direct oversight. The focus will be less on attention to detail and more on having fun, getting accustomed to their environment and learning the very basics. Learning discipline at this age can be difficult. It is important for the athlete to learn respect, discipline, self-control and listening skills. These are all very important skills to have prior to moving up to the Novice Training Division. The Chief Instructor at each American Sombo Branch will make the final decision and will decide when an athlete is ready to move up to the next Training Division.
